At the Playhouse, we foster a love for learning through a balanced approach that nurtures the whole child. Our curriculum blends structured academic foundations with play-based exploration, allowing children to develop cognitive, social-emotional, and physical skills in a natural and engaging way. We provide a rich language environment, hands-on activities, and opportunities for creative expression, all designed to support curiosity, confidence, and growth.
What We Do
Emotional Regulation and Well-Being
Social-emotional learning is critical for children’s ability to build relationships, manage their emotions, and navigate school and life challenges. Through storytelling, mindfulness, play, and yoga we help children understand their emotions, build empathy, enhance focus and concentration, and develop self-awareness.
Fine and Gross Motor Skills
Physical activities like drawing, scissor-work, yoga, and dancing support children’s physical and cognitive development, coordination, and confidence.
TK and Kindergarten Readiness
We build foundational skills for future academic success through engaging, hands-on activities that support early literacy and numeracy. Children develop shape, color, number, and letter recognition, practice writing through Handwritting without Tears, counting, and learn their letter sounds through song and zoo-phonics
Rich Language Environment
Our classrooms are filled with stories, songs, and conversations that build vocabulary and comprehension. Through storytelling, call-and-response activities, and interactive discussions, children develop strong communication skills and become excited about language!
Science Exploration
We introduce earth science, weather, animals, and safe, fun chemistry experiments to inspire curiosity about the natural world.
Art Curriculum
Our art activities allow children to express creativity and develop problem-solving skills, while contributing to emotional development and self-expression.
Seasonal Learning
Our activities change with the world around us! We recognize the seasons and holidays as milestones in a young child’s life. Crafts, storytelling, and fundamental learning experiences are thoughtfully tailored throughout the year in engaging and meaningful ways, creating variety, excitement, and anticipation for our learners.
